THE CURRICULUM ORGANIZATION


The Portland French School offers an integrated French American curriculum in a warm and nurturing learning environment that favors developmentally appropriate practices.

Following the French educational system, PFS is organized in three learning cycles in elementary grades.

1 - Learning Cycle 1 (Preschool): TPS (2½ years old), PS (3 years old), MS (4 years old)
2 - Learning Cycle 2:  Kindergarten, CP (1st grade) and CE1 (2nd grade),
3 - Learning Cycle 3 : CE2 (3rd grade), CM1 (4th grade) and CM2 (5th grade).
4 - The International Middle School : The middle school follows an integrated French American currriculum but modeled after the International Baccalaureate Organisation Middle Year Program. The IMS is in the process of getting a full accreditation from the IBO.
